The battery is compatible with the following series of Archos MP3 players: AV300, AV100 and FM Recorder / Recorder 20 V2 / Multimedia 20.
For AV300 users:
The battery will slide in and out of your player easily so carrying more than one charged battery to replace shouldn't be a problem.
First ensure that your unit is switched off and unplugged from the mains. The battery compartment is located on the right hand side when looking at the screen
- get a small philips screwdriver and carefully unscrew the screw. Then slide the battery compartment cover towards you (whilst still looking at the screen). Easy, now simply
hold the unit in your right hand and clap with the heels of your hand to push the battery out using inertia. Imagine you were appluading with just the heels of your hand.
From the motion the batter should come out. Then simply replace old for new and put the battery cover back on.
AV300 series installation Troubleshooting:
When inserting the new battery, if you find any resistance, do not force the battery directly in. Work the
battery in a lateral, 'prying' motion while gently pushing the battery in, bit by bit. This will allow the
battery to avoid getting caught on your circuit board. Once the battery is in as far as you can push with
your fingers, take a small screwdriver, etc, and gently push it down a bit further until it fits snugly.
These batteries are slightly shorter than the originals and may need a little extra push to properly
connect.
If your battery loses contact periodically, you may need to provide a tighter fit for the
battery by removing the battery cover and inserting a small piece of rolled paper under the cover.
